BLUE JUICE COMICS is excited to announce a new partnership with SURE PICTURES. The two companies will work together to publish comics, and to develop their expanding library of stories and characters into film and television projects.
“We are very thrilled to welcome Jerry Carita (owner of Sure Pictures) into the Blue Juice family,” said Blue Juice Editor-in-Chief Tom Mumme. “We’ve worked with him for years across multiple television projects. In fact, we decided to build a comics publisher while working with Jerry on Season 1 of COMIC BOOK MEN. So this is a homecoming almost 10 years in the making, and we couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds.”
“I’ve been a fan of every book that Blue Juice has published, and I can’t wait to dive in and have a blast making comics and projects for TV and film,” said Carita. “The Blue Juice library is chock full of excellent stories, and we’re going to have a lot of fun telling more stories and working to move these characters into film and TV and share them with new audiences.”
This partnership comes on the heels of a number of recent developments at Blue Juice. In the past few months, their longest-running title, THE ACCELERATORS, published its fourth volume, and their fantasy pirate series, ANNE BONNIE, returned from a hiatus to start Volume Three, currently releasing monthly at your local comic book store. Last month they announced that they are teaming up with Ringo Award-winning and Eisner-nominated writer Justin Gray and artist Barry McClain Jr. to publish their BILLY THE KIT comic, fresh off its very successful Kickstarter campaign. Also releasing this year is KNIGHTS OF THE 5th DIMENSION, a 4-issue love letter to Jack Kirby from Walt Flanagan, Casey Van Heel, and Wayne Jansen.
BLUE JUICE COMICS was founded in 2012 by Thomas Mumme, Adam Miller, Mike Misconi & Jeremy Schneider. The four friends have turned a shared love of comics into a catalog of successful titles, including THE ACCELERATORS, ANNE BONNIE, ÆTHER & EMPIRE, and KNIGHTS OF THE 5th DIMENSION. The publisher is under the Blue Juice Films umbrella, through which the partners develop and produce content across all media, including documentary films, commercials, branded content, and audiobooks. www.bluejuicecomics.com
